Stefan has been the Knicks beat writer for the NY Post since 2023, having written about the team and NBA for other publications 15 years prior. He has covered seven NBA Finals – including Game 7 of Warriors-Cavaliers in 2016 – and broken stories involving not only the NBA but also the Yankees and professional soccer. He’s an award winner for the New Jersey Press Association and Professional Basketball Writers Association. Before joining The Post, he worked at the New York Daily News, Bergen Record, Herald News, New Jersey Herald and Associated Press. He was also a regular contributor to SNY’s coverage of the NBA and hosted a weekly live show on Spotify's “Green Room.” The Bronx native comes from a family of journalists and writers, with a father, Filip, who authored several books and served as a sports columnist in the New York area for more than 30 years and a mother, LynNell Hancock, who worked for the Village Voice, Newsweek and the Columbia Journalism School. He lives in Montclair, NJ, with his wife and two children. In 25 years of playing, he never won a fantasy football league.
