2 dead and 2 hospitalized in horrific overnight crash on Southern State Parkway

Two young women were killed when a drugged-up, speeding teen driver slammed their ride into a tree on a Long Island parkway – hurling one from the mangled wreck and trapping the other inside, authorities said.

Haily Dsouza, 21, and Crystal Alba-Figueroa, 23, were riding in the backseat of a 2016 Dodge Dart driven by 19-year-old Jaden Dsouza, who was whizzing in and out of lanes at a “high rate of speed” on the Southern State in Oyster Bay near Exit 30 around 11 p.m. on Sunday, according to state police.

Jaden Dsouza, of College Point, Queens, suddenly lost control and crashed into a tree on the shoulder of the parkway – trapping Haily Dsouza inside and ejecting Alba-Figueroa from the car, cops said.

Both women were pronounced dead at the scene when state troopers arrived, authorities said.

Jaden Dsouza, along with a front-seat passenger, 23-year-old Anthonie Marte, of East Elmhurst, were taken to a local hospital, where they were listed in serious condition, police said.

Jaden Dsouza was later arrested and charged with one count of driving while impaired by drugs, second-degree manslaughter, first-degree vehicular manslaughter, second-degree assault and aggravated vehicular homicide, cops said.

The relationship between the four occupants of the destroyed Dodge was not immediately known.

Photos of the wreckage show the car totaled and flipped upside-down near a wrong-way sign. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Eastbound lanes were shut down from Exit 29 to Exit 30 after the incident and were reopened by police around 5:30 a.m. Monday.

An investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
